We all know packaging with high-quality metallic and thus highly attractive surfaces.
These are mostly plastic films laminated to cardboard – a composite material that cannot be recycled.
But – it can also be done without plastic.
Transfer technology transfers the complete metallization from foil onto a
carrier such as paper, cardboard or aluminum. The transfer medium is
the transfer foil. The resulting composite is free of plastic – a
mono-material and recyclable!
The transferred metallization is brilliant and high-gloss, because transfer transfers 100% – in contrast to cold foil! Additionally various colors and holographic designs are also convincing.
Transfer foil with water-based release coating even allows direct contact with food!
The used transfer foil does not contain any metal after transfer, it is pure (PET) plastic. This is recycled and thus reduces the CO2 footprint of the resulting packaging.
